Musician's Institute [MI] Updates (#1):

Hey guys,

Had an acoustics test last week that I aced 100%. Had a recording theory test last week and earlier on yesterday, I got both results in yesterday, aced those too scoring 110% on last week's paper and a 100% yesterday; i'm pretty damn happy at the outcome considering the fact I've only ever gotten a 100% on a test once or twice in my life and that was by miracle. I think i'm doing pretty good in school so far, pleasing the parents and living the dream.

MI is the place to be and study audio at right now. It's a school with international residents as well as domestic residents. We get to learn from some of the best there is, work on expensive-ass equipment that many of us dream of and learn within actual A-class studios that scream perfection and awesomeness! For those of you who have the loose change in the pocket and want something extraordinary in either contemporary music or audio engineering and the like, MI is where I recommend you to go.

Saturday there will be some sort of keyboard open house that I'm definitely going to; Jordan Ruddess of Dream Theater will be there!

Other than that, Hollywood is still filled with weirdos and shit.

Stay tuned! Happy 420!

Heads-up notice~

Here's a little heads up notice for those following my SoundBlog. In the week to come, I'll be taking you all on a tour through my little SoundFactory (a name i've given to my little mobile workstation).
I'll be going through a list of equipment that follows me wherever I take a temporary base, providing some technical specifications of what I have and basically write a whole scheme of reviews (depending on how bothered I feel about doing that). I might post up some pictures, if I find out how to post pictures on here. I'll be doing reviews on some equipment via my youtube channel, a page that I disclose to only selected few to begin with.

I'm getting into the habit of double-posting; the core content itself, plus the additional post which will state what to look for in the next post.

Other than that, I'm pretty excited about all of this. I've never done something like this before, and for those of you who truly know me, i'm sure you'll look forward to some pretty crazy stuff in-stored. Until then. Damai.

Freshman in the world of e-blogging~

Well, I actually have a blog; thought i'd try it out and see how it goes. I think i'm going to call this my "SoundBlog", since i'm an audio engineer in-training and all.
Let's see, a little bit about myself for those who may not no me, and I guess to those who know me, but don't know that much about me, here's the scoop!

My name is Aziz, people call me Ozzy. I'm a Brunei-born Brulasiaportunesean (Bruneian-Malaysian-Portuguese-Chinese) male, about 5'11" in height, if not 6' already. I attended Stella Kindergarten School, then to St. Andrews, and then to Jerudong International School (from '97-'09).
Currently, I'm enrolled at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA. I'm taking a 9-month intensive certificate program in Audio Engineering, after which, I plan to move to London to take my bachelors degree in Audio Engineering at the SAE Institute, then hopefully a business administration degree.

I'm not a big fan of sports, other than anything related to racing. I am, however, a big fan of music (multi-genre). I will eat almost anything the average everyday human being eats, except for anything Andrew Zimmern eats (I don't have as strong as a stomach as he does).

Now, a little bit about why I decided to go about with starting this blog in the first place. Actually, the idea isn't new to me - my friends have had them for quite some time. I thought it would be a good space to publish info about what goes on in my little world of audio (not to brag about anything, but more inclined towards the written diary kind of thing).
So, what to expect in this SoundBlog: personal reviews on audio equipment, articles on songs I am working on, information regarding any collaborations I do, any people in the industry I meet, a normal day at my college, anything interesting that happens with me, internships that i've gone to, etc.

So, hopefully, I get the hang of this blogging thing and hopefully I will have some interesting things to write about and perhaps even show you (in terms of pictures). This is college life for me, so, on with the interesting stories. Thanks for tuning in ;)

P.S. I have a youtube page under construction where songs will make their debut, remixes will see the light of day, etc.
